Extraordinary success for Czech business in the European Business Awards

Since 2007, the European Business Awards has been spotlighting the most innovative businesses on the continent by promoting success, innovation and ethics in the European business community.
The Ruban d’Honneur recipients, winners of the second round of the European Business Awards, were announced on 14 January 2014. Among almost 400 entrants from around Europe, Czech businesses have notched up considerable success. Four Czech companies – Kofola Československo, Etnetera, TEDOM and Y Soft Corporation are among the 100 best businesses in Europe selected by a panel of judges.
Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International, the lead sponsor of the European Business Awards, said, “These companies are a shining example of European business success. We wish them well in this last, but crucial, selection stage and look forward to announcing the overall category winners at our Gala Event in Athens, Greece”
In addition, 30 companies from 30 European countries were announced as National Public Champions based on the public vote on video entries with the highest number of votes for each country. The National Public Champion for the Czech Republic is Etnetera. Congratulations on this double success!
Monika Marečková, managing partner of RSM CZ, says: “The success of Czech companies is really enormous. There are four Czech businesses in the top 100 European companies. This is proof that Czech entrepreneurs believe in what they do and they do it very well. I wish to warmly congratulate the winners and to say that we will continue to support them. I trust they have a chance to succeed in the final stage as well.”
Now for the final or What happens next?
The National Champions were chosen by public vote that generated 70,981 votes. Now a second phase of public voting opens. At www.businessawardseurope.com, you can view and vote for the videos of all National Public Champions who will then compete to become the overall European Public Champion, The voting closes on 25 March 2014. Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, said: “Our judges were extremely impressed by the very high standard this year and we have been delighted by the public response to the videos. It is great to see so many people engage with the awards.” The third stage will again be decided by the panel of judges. 100 of the Ruban d’Honneur recipients will compete to become winners in one of the following ten categories:- The RSM Entrepreneur of the Year Award
- The UKTI Award for Innovation
- The Infosys Business of the Year Award (Turnover €0-25m, €26-150m and €150m+)
- The International Growth Strategy of the Year Award
- The Millicom Award for Environmental and Corporate Sustainability
- The Employer of the Year Award
- The Award for Customer Focus
- The Import/Export Award
