Accounting Manager for International Clients

The accounting manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the accounting department with focus on international clients. We are looking for someone to develop and maintain international accounting principles, best practices and systems for collecting, analyzing and reporting information. Must have a general understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or potentially IFRS. You will be closely cooperating with Head of Accounting Department and will be in conducting the negotiations with our international clients.

Candidate must be fluent both in Czech and English.

What will be your main competencies?

  • Responsible for cooperation with the international clients
  • Point of contact for all international clients – being responsible for day to day delivery
  • Lead and maintain regularly meetings with the clients, meeting minutes preparation and coordinate actions items within the accounting team
  • Oversee and review the month end close activities, including account reconciliations, and any necessary journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee Financial Statements preparations and other required year-end close activities
  • Preparing various financial reports for clients as per requirements
  • Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Point of contact for new international potential clients – prepare and negotiate proposals/contracts
  • Provide support for internal and external audits as needed
  • Cooperation with Tax Department (VAT, income tax) and potentially with Payroll Department
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department, support process improvement/automations
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff

Required skills and abilities:

  • Experience in working with multiple international legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • At minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis on Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in finance and accounting, exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost accounting and cost control principles
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • GAAP and IFRS knowledge it’s big advantages
  • Previous experience as an accounting supervisor or manager
  • Experience in leading international projects is an advantage
  • Fluent English – daily communication (written and oral) with clients
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Pohoda, NetSuite, SAP – as advantage)
  • Strong analytical skills, result & business orientation
  • Strong communication skills – be able to lead discussions/communication with clients in different culture diversity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Pays strict attention to detail
  • Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking middle size projects
